Rickenbacker (1998) 325V59 "Lennonized" Electric Guitar - Jetglo, w/OHSC

A wonderfully distinctive example of one of Rickenbacker's most recognizable Vintage Series guitars, this 1998 325V59 in Jetglo pays tribute to the short-scale Rickenbacker made famous by John Lennon during the formative years of The Beatles.

The discontinued 325V59 was Rickenbacker's vintage-style recreation of Lennon's original late-'50s 325 Capri, combining a compact semi-hollow maple body with an exceptionally short scale, set maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and three vintage-style Toaster Top single-coil pickups. Its unusual proportions and short scale give the 325 a playing feel and response unlike virtually any conventional electric guitar.

This particular example has been further “Lennonized,” with modifications intended to more closely reproduce the appearance of Lennon's own modified 325. These details complement the guitar's classic Jetglo finish and already unmistakable early-Beatles aesthetic.

Three Toaster Top pickups deliver the bright attack, harmonic richness, chime, and articulate jangle synonymous with vintage Rickenbacker electrics. The compact semi-hollow construction and extremely short scale add a quick, distinctive response particularly well suited to rhythm work and the tight chord voicings associated with the original instrument.

Produced from the mid-1980s through approximately 2001, the 325V59 has been discontinued for decades and has become an increasingly collectible Rickenbacker model in its own right.

Includes its original hardshell case.
