Andy Powers drew on the pioneering spirit of the 1940s and 1950s to create the fully enclosed, slim hollowbody Powers Electric A-Type guitar. This limited edition model embodies the vibrant energy of San Diego's surf, skate, car, and music scenes. From its innovative body design to its expertly crafted electronics and hardware, each aspect of these small-batch guitars has been meticulously developed from the ground up.

Hollow Body Design

The Powers Electric Limited Edition A-Type boasts a hollow ash body, supported by a specialized internal truss system, resulting in unparalleled resonance and sustain. Two soundposts link the top and back of the guitar beneath the bridge, facilitating coordinated vibrations and enhancing the instrument's already rich tonal qualities.

The guitar's maple top is built under tension, creating a comfortable arm contour and a livelier top. This design also increases the instrument's resonant frequencies. Precision was the focus when designing each feature of these guitars to optimize their performance.

PF42 Pickups

Infuse your music with bold and articulate sound using the PF42 pickups. Their combination of modern magnets and a partial aluminium enclosure ensures punch and clarity that expertly cuts through any mix while maintaining balance and musicality. Asymmetric Radius

The neck and fingerboard have been expertly crafted to provide effortless playability and exceptional resonance. The asymmetrical "split" radius of the Honduran rosewood fingerboard creates a slightly flatter surface on the treble side and a more rounded surface on the bass side, making it easy to play and bend strings without any choking. 

Camtail Vibrato System

The Powers Electric Limited Edition A-Type Two Tone PF42 - Mint/Fjord Green offers top-notch tuning stability and dynamic response with the option of a groundbreaking "Camtail" vibrato system or a reliable, top-loading hardtail bridge. Developed with string gauge and tension in mind, the Camtail allows for lapsteel-inspired pitch shifts while maintaining exceptional tuning stability. Crafted Details

Additional features found on this product include automotive-inspired colors and resin knobs, inspired by techniques used in surfboard and hot rod painting. Each knob is one-of-a-kind, made of layers of resin in various colors and requiring hours to create. The A-Type also comes with a striking leather case, further adding to its visually captivating and meticulously crafted design.
