This John Page Classics 2025 Series Builder’s Choice AJ is an evolution of the first guitar designed by John when he started his custom shop in 2006, and carries the initials of his son, Adam John.

“I've always played a Tele and loved the simplicity of it, but I felt it was too harsh and ice-picky. Then one day in Fender R&D Ted Greene came in and I heard amazing sweet tones out of a Tele for the first time, so I knew it could be done. The AJ was my answer to how to get a fuller tone out of a T-style. I got rid of the ice-pick highs with the reverse angle bridge pickup and thickened the neck pickup by using a slightly underworld P-90, because I didn't want it muddy. I have too much respect for my old employer to copy their designs, so I gave it my own spin, classed it up a bit, and made it more comfortable to play. Adding the threaded inserts and machine bolt neck mounting system adds the coolest sparkle on top!”

John Page remains a visionary guitar designer, co-founded the Fender Custom Shop in 1987 having lead it for 12 years.
