This is Dan Erlewine's personal prototype DE-11 guitar, and the first DE-11 guitar ever made! The Iris DE-11 Dan Erlewine signature prototype model is a unique guitar, crafted by hand in Burlington, Vermont. This guitar is based on Dan's personal favorite, the 1937 Kalamazoo KG-11, and boasts a 1930s V-shaped neck, Rickard rear-mount banjo tuning machines, and an Adirondack spruce top. With a satin finish and Honduran mahogany back, sides, and neck, this pre-owned guitar is in excellent condition.

The neck of this prototype model, designed by Dan Erlewine, features an interesting design where it extends beyond the nut and transforms into the ears of the peghead. The fingerboard is equipped with threaded brass inserts that can be used with screw-down capos, resulting in a highly versatile and musical guitar. The satin finish adds a sophisticated touch, while the Mortise and Tenon bolt-on neck joint guarantees stability and durability. Other notable features include a Katalox fretboard and bridge, Adirondack spruce braces, and a bone nut and saddle. This guitar also comes with a Tiger stripe pickguard and a built-in Capo System which includes 2 capos, 2 thumb screws, 4 torx screws, and a Torx Screw Installer. With a depth of 4.0" at the end pin, this model comes with a TKL Hardshell case for safe and secure storage.

Dan Erlewine says, "It's the most musical guitar I've ever owned"
