The Nashville version of the Gretsch 6120 was made from 1964 - 1971, and features the fully-hollow laminated maple body but with a double cutaway. This one is serial #87650, which places it as the 650th instrument made by Gretsch in August of 1967 in Brooklyn, New York. All original. Like many vintage Gretsch guitars, this one has some discoloration in the binding and finish fading, as shown in the photos. With OHSC.
Specs include:
- 16” wide, 2 ¼ inch body
- Simulated (painted) F holes, two-piece maple neck; finish is faded; some binding discoloration.
- Original Filter'tron humbucking pickups and smooth gold pickup rings.
- Thumbprint (neoclassic) inlays.
- Ebony fingerboard, 1 11/16” bone “Action Flo” nut and zero fret, 24.5 scale length
- Bar style adjustable bridge; Signature (no signpost) on gold plastic pickguard.
- Two switches on upper bass bout
- Two Separate gold pickup volume knobs, plus master volume knob on cutaway.
- Gold plated Van Ghent open back tuners; Peghead plate says “Chet Atkins Nashville Model”
- Single mute with small lever knob (added to the model in year 1964); most of these mute levers are removed by players, as almost useless devices, but this one is intact!
- Pebble grain vinyl back pad.
- Gretsch “V” Bigsby
