A striking and uncommon take on the Les Paul, this 1996 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Florentine pairs classic Les Paul appointments with a semi-hollow construction and dual F-holes. Finished in a beautiful Emberglow with gold hardware, this example features an ebony fingerboard and a pair of Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers for the warm, articulate sound these early Custom Shop Florentines are known for.
At just 8 lbs. 6.3 oz., the Florentine offers a noticeably different feel and response from a traditional solidbody Les Paul, with an open, resonant acoustic character while retaining the sustain and authority expected from a Gibson humbucker guitar.
This example remains in good condition for a 30-year-old instrument and displays honest signs of age and use, including finish checking, a nick on the back of the neck, surface wear, and scratches on the bridge pickup cover. These cosmetic signs are consistent with a well-played vintage-era instrument and give the guitar plenty of character.
Includes its original Gibson hardshell case as well as an original 8" x 11" period advertisement for the model.
