The Gibson 1942 Banner J-45 Heavy Aged represents an authentic recreation of Gibson's legendary acoustic workhorse. Featuring a thermally aged red spruce top that delivers punchy, articulate tones with exceptional dynamic range, paired with resonant mahogany back and sides for warmth and sustain. The period-correct mahogany neck with Historic profile and rosewood fingerboard provide comfortable access across the fretboard. Appointments include single-ply binding, multi-ply rosette detailing, mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and a tortoiseshell pickguard. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish was meticulously aged using Gibson's Murphy Lab techniques in Bozeman, Montana, creating an instrument that captures both the sonic character and vintage aesthetic of the original 1942 design.
