This guitar pays homage to a renowned guitarist, vocalist, and actress who achieved widespread fame in the early 1950s. She began her career in country music, collaborating with notable figures in the industry. Her musical journey led to a partnership and marriage with a legendary guitarist and innovator. Together, they achieved remarkable success, selling millions of records and producing numerous top-ten hits.

This artist was celebrated for her rich vocals, intricate harmonies, and versatile guitar playing that spanned various genres. She was also known for embracing innovative recording techniques, such as multi-track recording and overdubbing. Her influence extended to guitar design, inspiring a custom hollowbody model with a distinctive floral pickguard and armrest.

This guitar captures the essence of her iconic instrument, featuring a classic Goldtop finish with a unique Vintage Cherry back. The cream and gold floral pickguard and armrest add a touch of elegance, while the mahogany body with a maple cap and mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard deliver exceptional tone and playability. Powered by a pair of Burstbucker™ pickups, this guitar offers a versatile range of sounds. It comes complete with a hardshell case, making it a fitting tribute to one of the most beloved and innovative artists of the 20th century. Comes with a case.

Gibson is proud to release the Mary Ford Les Paul Standard, based on the one-of-a-kind original believed to have been made for Mary Ford in 1958: a Les Paul™ Goldtop model with an ES-295-style floral pickguard and matching armrest. Mary Ford, a versatile guitarist and singer with a rich, smooth voice, partnered musically with Les Paul (and married him in 1949). The duo sold over six million records in 1951 alone and had a string of 16 top-ten hits between 1950 and 1954. These hits showcased Mary's complex harmonies (achieved through multi-track recording and overdubbing, a groundbreaking recording technique at the time) and her ability to blend country, jazz, and pop seamlessly.

The Mary Ford Les Paul Standard features a Goldtop finish with a Vintage Cherry back, cream and gold floral pickguard and armrest, mahogany body with maple cap, mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and SlimTaper™ profile, and Burstbucker™ pickups (a Burstbucker 2 in the neck position and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge). It also includes a hardshell case.
