The original "Duo-Sonic" construction consists of two single coil pickups, a bolt on neck, short scale, and solid lightweight alder wood body. First released in 1956, this model boasted simple yet efficient design and a reduced 22.5 inch scale length. Three years later in 1959, the Duo-Sonic underwent a makeover. The most notable alteration was the transition from a maple to a rosewood fingerboard, following the trend of other Fender models of that era. Additionally, the pickguards were updated from anodized aluminum to plastic.
This 1963 Fender Duo-Sonic in Olympic White is the last year they made the original 1959 specs before switching over to a Fender Mustang style template in 1964, changing the overall scale length and design. This guitar is in excellent condition with original pickups and electronics fully playable with our 99 point inspection and luthier setup. Play the iconic guitar that's been used by Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and so many countless other legends.
