The Gold Tone GM-10 "Frypan" mandolin, an affordable instrument, embodies the spirit and sound of the classic Flatiron M2 mandolin. The M2 was created in the late 1970s by Chuck Morrison, and its design was based on the Army/Navy model mandolin, which was built during WWI for the US military. This all solid wood "flattie" weighs 1.8 pounds, making it easy to transport. Its sweet tone and easy playability will please players at any level. It boasts a solid spruce top, solid maple sides and back, high-quality components, including nickel-plated tuners with striped buttons, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, an adjustable 2-way truss rod, a rosewood bridge, black ABS bindings, and a durable gloss finish.
